The Map of Japan is an item in Mystical Ninja Starring Goemon. It is a map of the entire country of Japan that, besides showing the player's current location, also allows to select any available destinations during the quick travel feature.

As its name states, the "Map of Japan" allows the player to view a map of the entire island of Japan, as well as their current location, during the pause menu. A traveler will give it to the player for free if they talk to him at the Kai Highway's coffee shop. If it's not obtained there, then it will be given later by Koryuta at the same time as the flute.
The map also shows up whenever the flute is used. It displays any village, town or coffee shop already visited (unlocked) by the player, and allows to select any of them as a possible destination. Once a location is chosen, Koryuta will appear in dragon form and fly there, carrying the entire party with him (implied), serving as a method of quick travel.
